Stonewall, the charity that campaigns and lobbies for the rights of the gay community, celebrated with success its 20th birthday party at the prestigious Roof Gardens in Kensington. The party took place on the 11th of September to raise money for their latest campaign designed in collaboration with over 150 secondary school children. You might have come across their most talked about billboard “Some people are gay, get over it” across town. The objective is to tackle the issue of homophobia within school, right from the start of school term. Here is an article in the Independent raising awareness of the issue using female celebrities.
Stonewall has helped secure civil partnerships and so what better opportunity to celebrate the event than with images from a civil partnership I was delighted to photograph recently. Our couple, Julian & Alif, are celebrating their union with family and friends in central London on a beautiful sunny day.
